Open Call for COMFORT FOOD Zine
Submissions are now open for COMFORT FOOD, “a zine for BIPOC LGBT artists, our food, and our culture(s)!” Like the title suggests, the theme for this zine is "comfort food" - ie food that has a strong association with home, family, culture, and of course, comfort.
Participants are welcome to submit:
Recipes (ideally, each entry should have a corresponding recipe!)
Stories, either non-fiction or fiction, revolving around food and cultural identity
Visual art about food/culture (anything from small illustrations to go with ur recipe to full page stand-alone art is welcome!)
And more!
Recipes DO NOT have to be a formal list of measurements and instructions! They can be written as creatively as you would like it to be! Some examples of recipes for this zine can be written dialogue of conversations with family talking about how to make the dish, writing how you personally make the dish, etc.
To submit, please use the following Google Form: https://forms.gle/9zeSEZjsATR1eKtQ9
Please note: this is an unpaid opportunity. The finished zine will be published for free on the ALAC website for the public to read, download, and/or print!
